Southeast Health Group’s newest location in Eads began serving clients on Nov. 18, with Lindsey Barlow, the clinician for mental health services, providing individual, group, and family therapy to clients of all ages. An open house will be held Dec. 16 from 2-4 p.m.
The location offers case management and peer services, based on the needs of individual services. Crisis services will continue to be offered, as well as Substance Use Disorder services by appointment only. SUD services will be offered at the location once proper licensing is complete.
Screenings, referrals for services, and warm handoffs are offered at the Eads location by Kailey Meardon, SHG Community Connector, who is from Eads. Warm handoffs are made through the collaboration of primary care providers, who work with a Health Connector at SHG to establish what services a client would benefit from.
“Eads Medical Clinic realizes the importance of mental health and how it aligns with physical health,” Meardon said.
“The Eads Clinic has partnered with Southeast Health Group to provide both of those services. In an effort to provide well-rounded care, Eads Medical Clinic is providing warm handoffs to Southeast Health Group in an effort to make the transition from seeking medical care to mental health care as seamless as possible,” said Meardon.
The new location was made possible through the help of many community partners, according to JC Carrica, Chief Executive Officer at SHG.
“We are excited to continue expanding our reach of services to the Eads community,” Carrica said. “Rural areas are traditionally highly underserved in access to mental health services, and at SHG we are constantly looking to change that statistic.”
